11 units total within two main buildings: a 3-story lodge building with 3 units (plus an office) and a one-story motel with 8 units.
The lodge can sleep 36 with 20 beds, including 8 kings, 5 queens, 2 twins, a twin trundle with two twin mattresses, a queen sleeper sofa and two convertible queen floor mattresses.
Just behind the lodging units flows a year-round small creek. A large old apple tree graces the center courtyard with a fire pit, and just behind that is a 3-season kitchen with several tables, sink, countertops, stove, and grill. The “commercial unit” is surprising, in that it has a complete stainless steel commercial kitchen with vent hood, gas grill, and stainless steel fixtures. Other amenities include a large 3-season creekside patio with tables, couches, and complete with overhead heaters, fans and a full kitchen. There is an additional smaller creekside patio with BBQ and seating; hot tub; an arcade/game room with vintage games such as skeeball & pinball (the only arcade in town) that opens up fully to another bar are with seating and sunset view over the Grand Mesa; a fenced-in garden with raised beds and seating; croquet, horseshoe and bocce courts; and creekside yoga studio/massage room with wrap around deck and additional seating with 2 fire pit areas.
The Cedaredge Lodge has a nice cozy feel, as the rooms are paneled in native aspen wood paneling and lamps and décor have a Western or mountain theme. The lodge is featured on AirBnB and other short-term rental sites and is run in a hands-off fashion. Doors have key codes and guests check themselves in. The office is not manned 24/7.
The Cedaredge Lodge has an ideal location on the southern slope of the Grand Mesa, which is the largest flat-topped mountain in the world. The Grand Mesa rises to 10,400 feet at its highest point, and has a total of 500 square miles of National Forest lands and over 300 lakes and reservoirs. Of course, recreational opportunities are boundless, with 4-wheeling, ATV riding, camping, boating, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and excellent hunting for elk and mule deer. The Nordic Council operates 30 miles of cross-country ski trails, and Powderhorn Resort offers a really fun small-town skiing experience just on the other side of the mesa. As well, the Grand Mesa is one of the best snowmobiling destinations in the world, with hundreds of miles of beautiful trails and backcountry riding.
For many years, Cedaredge was a well-kept secret, but the secret is getting out. The downtown area has a charming little Main Street with American flags flying. There are several good restaurants, cafés, boutiques, art galleries, and a wine bar. The nearby Cedaredge Golf Course is known as a challenging 18-hole course with terrific views and low greens fees. The town itself is surrounded by fruit orchards of apples, peaches, pears, and cherries, as well as hayfields and mountain ranches. The town has a local medical clinic, dentist, K-12 schools with an excellent academic reputation, and grocery store. Big-box stores, hospital, car dealers, etc. are available in Delta and Montrose, only 20 and 40 minutes away.
